Almost 100 new releases have been uploaded to the Primalrecords.com database--house, tech-house, progressive, techno, breaks, leftfield, and just about everything in between. And don't forget exclusive promos. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Primal Records lightning round:
V/A "The Midas EP" (feat. Midas, Spettro & Thomas Sahs, Lavish Habits, and Scott Pace) Select (Promo) [House, Tech-house] Mark my words: The Midas crew will be doing massive damage in 2003, and this record--limited to only 500 pressed and never to be pressed again!--is going to lead the charge. Dirty, freaked-up, funky tech-house for those in the know.
DJ ADNAN "Stop War" (Original & Amit Shoham Mxs) Tarantic (Promo) [House, Tribal, Tech-house] PR2 alumni DJ Adnan & Amit Shoham team up for an important message and another wicked tribal tech-house rub. Super limited whites available now; full release will go to benefit the Middle East Children's Alliance. Brilliant and inspiring.

SPETTRO "T-Shorty" (Original, David Duriez, and Sifter Rmxs) Big Chief (Promo) [House, Tech-house] Another new face to watch this year, Spettro makes his bow for the Big Chief ranch with a classy double-pack, here on exclusive (and once again limited) white label. As if the original mixes weren't good enough, David Duriez is called in for a funky, ethereal set of mixes and Honchos alumni Sifter offer a harder edged UK tech-house take for good measure.

BROKEN HOME "Freakin' You / Nickel Bag" Jiggy (Promo) [House, Tech-house, Breaks] It's Chicago style here, with a dash of West Coast breaks-isms. The result? A much-needed party record that Derrick Carter fans will take notice of.
UNKNOWN (Justin Timberlake / Mystikal) "Rock Your Body / Shake Ya Ass" (Broken Home Rmxs) White Label [House, Tech-house, Breaks] If the number of illicit remixes you command rivals those of Sade or Missy, you know you're hot. So, Mr. Timberlake. How does it feel? The Broken Home crew takes Justin on a techy house trip that lives up to its name, while Mystikal shakes his ass with a breakbeat house flavor. Wicked.
UNKNOWN (Yello) "Beautiful" (DJ Adnan & Amit Shoham Rmxs) White Label [House, Tribal, Tech-house] Amit's heart just about stopped when Doc Martin dropped this record at a Winter Music Conference party, but everyone else's hands went straight up into the air. Another massive club track--on limited pressing and currently exclusive to Primalrecords.com--from these on-fire San Francisco producers.
MR. NEGATIVE "Star Spangled Banner" (Freaks and Freestyle Man Rmxs) Crack & Speed [House, Tech-house] The original was good, but it needed something. Namely, a jacky Chicago styled Freaks mix to inject some funk into the campy French irony of the spoken word. Fries & Bridges have spent the last month caning it off CDR, and when Phil Weeks dropped it here in SF, the place just about lost it. One for the Year-End lists--already.

V/A (JAY-J & MIGUEL MIGS) "In the House" Unmixed 3x12" Defected [House] Two of San Francisco's biggest names team up for a 2-CD mixed set and an unmixed triple-pack of vinyl. Could it be anything less than the utmost quality of deep house? Not likely. New and rare music from Sandy Rivera, Gene Farris, Jay-J, John "Julius" Knight, and Groove Junkies pave the way.

CLE feat. DEREK VERRETT "No Need To See" Soundproof [House, Tech-house] Every single DJ here at Primal HQ has had this one in the box all month long. Funky, twisted tech-house with an acid edge and the most clever Depeche Mode sample ever. Staying up all night over when the Brett Johnson album is coming out? Buy this one and get to bed.

ELECTRIC TEASE "Limbo" (Original and Metta & JT Love Mxs) Automatic [Progressive, Tech-house] Electric Tease was responsible for a string of progressive staples from last year, courtesy of airplay from Digweed, Pappa, and the like. Metta & JT Love are two of the UK's brightest new tech-house producers whose upcoming release on 20/20 as the Bionic Bump Band will no doubt raise their visibility to an all-time high. Together, it makes for a diverse, quality record for a wide cross-section of jocks. Fantastic.

SASHA "Artificial Heart / Motorola / Wavy Gravy (U&K Rmx)" BMG [Progressive] It took the Man Like almost 10 years to finish his "Airdrawndagger" LP, but thankfully, only a year to release his best record since "Xpander." "Artificial Heart" is a chunky, bass-driven progressive houser conjured up by Sasha with long-time collaborator Charlie May and album contributor Junkie XL, while both B-sides stake their claim as stand-alone faves themselves. Thought the ambient edge of the LP was a bit much? Welcome Sasha back to the dancefloor. Excellent.

V/A (NICK WARREN) "Global Underground: Reykjavik" Global Underground [Progressive, Tech-house, Leftfield] To be totally honest, I haven't listened to Nick Warren's latest Global Underground mixed CD. But after hearing this eclectic batch of cuts on this limited unmixed vinyl package, I might have to. Boards Of Canada and Global Communication meets Tarantella vs. Redanka and Aquaculture? Now this is progressive!
