This week's first update is up and online now at Primalrecords.com, but this morning, I feel like mixing things up a bit and getting creative with the newsletter. I mean, hey, do I really need to tell you how amazing the new records from Fries & Bridges, Solomonic vs. Tigerhook, G-Pal, or Omni AM are? Umm, well, okay. Maybe I do. But this time I'd like to share my feelings about these records through the ancient Japanese art of Haiku.

So without further ado, welcome to the world's very first (as far as I know) House Music Haiku showdown:

FRIES & BRIDGES "Uprock 3000 Vol. 1" Robsoul [House, Tech-house]

It's acid house for breakdancers!
Phil Weeks and Hector Moralez are every bit
the freaks you think they are.

OMNI AM "28C / Wormdrive" LHB [House, Tech-house]

As if their Chicago bodies
were possessed by Fabric residents
Adam and Marky---the face of global tech-house.

MIGUEL MIGS "Feel It" EP NRK [House]

He samples Shuffle, Inc.
but speaks in his own deep and dubby voice:
Boh Selector!

TIGERHOOK VS. SOLOMONIC SOUND "Two Sound Clash" Worship [House, Tech-house, Breaks]

Could it be? That dub and breakbeat
meld so perfectly together?
Only Jah can make this happen.

G-PAL pres. GHOS "Beneath The Surface" Shinichi [House, Tech-house, Progressive]

Drafted by the army of Greece
Did you dream at night about making tracks?
G-Pal: We're so glad you're safe!

SHMUEL & BARANES "Spanish Tale / Groove Tale" Yoshitoshi [House, Tribal, Progressive]

Every time I hear this,
opening Steve Lawler's CD in pure tribal bliss
I think: "Lights Out, Berkeley!"

STEPHANE K "Numb" SAW Recordings [Progressive]

Long and brooding
Its intro makes Justin want to start a mix tape.
But where is John Creamer?

PETE MOSS "Fearless" EP Vista [House, Tech-house]

One side is deep--warm, lush, and bottomy;
The other is fierce, with a New York Sugardish diva I adore
He beat me to sampling her, damn it.

DERRICK L. CARTER "People" (Alternate Mix) / "An Afterthought That Happened During A Night Drive On The Neural Net..." Robsoul [House, Tech-house]

As if George W. was impeached;
Oh, the party I'd throw. I'm almost as excited to hear
that this record has finally been repressed!
