There's this thing we know of in the industry called the "summer slowdown." New releases generally slow down because our European friends tend to go on "holiday" around this time and stores, distributors, and labels all close down for a while. As a result, this week is historically a very popular week to release records; it's kind of a last chance window that everyone tries to jump through before August. So what does that mean for you?
We've added more new releases into the House, Tech-house, Progressive, Breaks, Techno, and Leftfield catalogs than we know what to do with and I'm left trying to navigate which records are going to make this week's hitlist. It's quite simply an impossible task.
During times like these, I am forced to resort to that greatest of pastimes: It's time for a third volume of the Primal Records-originated House Music Haikus. Many have tried their hand at this art since we introduced it last year, but few have mustered the passion necessary to succeed with such poetry. So, for everyone who enjoys a good Walt Whitman book inbetween doses of Jay-J & Chris Lum, read on:
PASCAL LEROC "Runaway, Escape" (Original, Moisture Control, and Formidable Force Mxs) Bluedaze (Promo) [House, Tribal, Tech-house]
Leroc's original rocks with dubby grace
But Formidable Force make me jack my body
like an old Trax record.

UNKNOWN (THE WHITE STRIPES) "Seven Nation Army" (Peter Black's Rip It Off Acid Mix) White Label [House, Tech-house]
If The White Stripes were really from Detroit
they would have used a 303 themselves.
In lieu of Derrick May, Peter Black brings the acid.
UNKNOWN (KASKADE) "Beats and Pieces" EP White Label [House]
Limited, exclusive, soon-to-be-rare:
Kaskade goes nameless for this crucial white.
Om Records must be bummed.
BRETT JOHNSON "Broken" (Brett Johnson and Tony Senghore Rmxs) Seasons
[House, Tech-house]
The best Brett remix since "Stucco Homes."
What kind of drugs is he on
and where can I get some?

DJ ADNAN, HOGI, AND DJ NATHAN "Catch Me / Wrapped / Ocean Run" Care [House,
Tribal, Tech-house]
PR2 alumnus and part-time Masonic Noodle meet Nathan:
Wacky hi jinks and dubby tribal house business ensues.
This is the sound of San Francisco.

V/A "Submerged In Sound Voyage One" (feat. Jonene & Tony Senghore, Natural
Rhythm, Greenskeepers, and Brother Nature) Safe In Sound [House, Tech-house]
This record reminds me of Smart Bar.
And Gramaphone. And the Jamba Juice across the street from Gramaphone.
I miss Chicago sometimes.
