This week's first update is online now at Primalrecords.com, once again adding over 50 new titles to our House, Tech-house, Progressive, Techno, and Breaks catalogs. We've also got new and exclusive promo music from our friends at Amenti Music and Moulton Studios, as well as a promo-only release from the Brique Rouge camp. Here's the skinny:

SWIRL PEEPZ vs. EAST COAST BOOGIEMEN "Double Deuce Pt. 2" Amenti Music (Promo) [House, Tech-house] The unstoppable Amenti Music returns with Part 2 in the Double Deuce series between Belgium's Swirl People and D.C.'s East Coast Boogiemen, and in my opinion, it's even better than the first. ECB remix Swirl People's "So Much Like Me" with great effect, splicing up the samples into a tough and quirky groover with street vibe. On the flip, Swirl Peepz take on ECB's "Mile High Club" for a bass-heavy re-rub that effortlessly vascillates from a funk-charged bottomy run to a future music b-line grind. One of Amenti's best yet. Act fast.

JAY-J & CHRIS LUM feat. LATRICE BARNETT "Without You" (Original and Olivier Desmet & Chuck Diesel Mxs) Moulton Studios (Promo) [House, Tech-house] Deep house hardly gets better than when it's given the Chris Lum & Jay-J stamp of approval. Here, the genre gets two boons with their latest Moulton Studios release. Chris & Jay-J's original mix is a sultry blast with all of their Moulton trademarks: flawless drum sequencing, organic and funky bass power, Latrice Barnett's deep and sexy vocal performance. On the flip, Amenti label head Olivier Desmet teams up with his production partner Chuck Diesel for a tougher, dancefloor-ready dub mix that stays true to the Moulton aesthetic, but strips down the original into an effective blur of beats, bass, and well-placed vocal stabs--stuttered and looped for a blissfully delerious ride. First come, first serve.

JAY-J "From The Underground" / "Freaks Like Us" (Jay-J's Freakin' It Dub) Multitracked (Promo) [House, Tech-house] Now that we've got our dose of deep, it's only fair that Jay-J hits us with his harder side: "From The Underground" is a relentless peak-time houser, brought to life by a blast of funked-up beats, Funkadelic bass-riffing, and a frenetic hip-hop sampling frenzy. This ain't no 10 P.M. record, kids. On the flip, Jay-J revisits "Freaks Like Us" with a far calmer bent, adding ethereal undertones, a fat Detroit-styled bass line, and a vocoded robot vocal--certainly making for one of his most unique records yet. You can't fault these guys for their undisputed versatility.

V/A "Secret Gems From Da Vault Vol. 5" (feat. DJ Linus, Funky Transport, Cosmic Groove Transmission, and Cartoon) Brique Rouge (Promo) [House, Tech-house, Breaks] Seems like Jay-J's not the only one revisiting Detroit these days: the latest in Brique Rouge's "Secret Gems From Da Vault" series compiles four unreleased mixes from the label's stately catalog and at least three of them are aiming to put the tech back in tech-house. No label information here, so I can't venture too much of a guess on who's doing what; all I can say is that we're feeling this around here in a big way.

UNKNOWN (BUSTA RHYMES) "Woo-Ha" (Josh Collins and Jacob London Rmxs) White Label [House, Tech-house] Two of the hottest names in tech-house take on former Leader of the New School Busta Rhymes with these illicit house mixes of "Woo-Ha." Both mixes offer something different: Josh Collins takes on a tougher, slightly tribal big room vibe with one of the dirtiest bass lines you're bound to hear this summer, while Jacob London takes the freaked-out and rugged techy route, establishing why they've recently signed a bevy of releases to Derrick Carter's Classic imprint. Excellent stuff all around.

OMNI AM "2 Opps" (Original & DJ Buck Mxs) Leaf [House, Tech-house] We told you that Omni AM would be a name to watch this year and they're making good on their promise. Here, Marky Star and Adam Collins make their debut for the practically infallible Leaf camp and it delivers. The original mix is a deep and fierce Chicago houser that's got boompty-boomp written all over it, capitalizing on a tweaked spoken word and an old school refrain that recalls some of the city's classic Warehouse anthems through a modern lens. West Coast favorite DJ Buck takes a harder approach, but maintains the vintage vibe, opting for a slightly disco-flavored affair not unlike his last EP for F4 Music. Either way, you win.
