Just a reminder that things out here in California (and the rest of America) close down as a result of that holiday we call Thanksgiving. Because of it, there will be no orders shipped until Friday at the earliest.
That's okay, though, seeing as that gives you all day Thursday (after you've ducked out of your familial duties) to cruise onto the website and carefully make this week's selections. A new update has just gone up on Primalrecords.com, so there's lots of new music to check out. (And we're still plowing through our limited supply of white labels for the debut release from PR2 Recordings--DJ Adnan & Amit Shoham's "Searching" with Jay Tripwire on the remix. If you don't feel like waiting for the official release early next year, now's your chance.)
Here's a small taste of this week's booty:
JORDAN FIELDS "Full Tilt Boogie" EP Tilted (Promo) [House] New white label material from the ever-hot Tilted label, this time coming from Chicago house maven Jordan Fields. It's filtered, it's jacked, and Jon Lee's remix has serious b-line boogie flavor for a well-rounded quality plate.

DANCING HQ "All 4 Love" / "History Never Repeats Itself" Big Chief (Promo) [House, Tech-house, Tribal] After a successful release for esteemed UK house outlet Loaded Records, the folks at Big Chief sign this appropriately big 4-tracker from Dancing HQ. Beefy production carries the A-side on its dirty tribal ride, while the flip does the business in peak-time house style. Very limited quantities on this one, so good luck!

UNKNOWN (JILL SCOTT) "Slowly Surely" (Theo Parrish Rmx) White Label [Leftfield, House] If you're looking for the big bumping four-to-the-floor action, then this record might not tickle your fancy. But if classy afterhours music or downtempo flavor suits your palate at the moment, this one is not to be missed. Theo Parrish takes Jill Scott into a twisted and trippy place--somewhere between Philly and Goa. Dare to be different.
PC SYNERGY feat. SWEET T "Only One" (Original, Llorca, and East Coast Boogiemen Mxs) Robsoul (Promo) [House, Tech-house] This label is so white, we have no idea what the tracklisting is and we have literally so few copies that I can count them on both hands. The lucky few will win out with this techy vocal cut from Florida faves PC Synergy. The rest of you will have to wait for the full release. Be quick.

UNKNOWN (MISSY ELLIOT) "Work It" (Illicit Rmx) White Label [House, Tech-house] It was only a matter of time, huh? The original track is most likely my favorite radio cut of the year, so this funky upbeat house mix is hitting the spot in a big way. Drop this record at 2AM and watch the place absolutely lose it. Fantastic.
BRETT JOHNSON "Me Talk Pretty One Day" Icon [House, Techno, Tech-house] The most twisted man in Texas returns with a 4-track EP that veers just enough left without leaving the dancefloor. "A.D.D." will have the Classic set jacking, while "My Casio" will be my pick--tweaked percussion stripped into a minimal groove with maximum punch.

GABRIEL & DRESDEN "Lament" (Original & Dub 4 Satoshi Mxs) SAW Recordings [Progressive] San Francisco's best and brightest progressive house production team Gabriel & Dresden issue their latest EP for Satoshi Tomiie's SAW Recordings label with chart fanfare from John Digweed, Chris Fortier, Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, and just about everyone else in the big leagues. It's no wonder why: The Original Mix is deep and groovy big room music with the duo's trademark '80s edge--somewhere between Northern Exposure and New Order. Darker prog enthusiasts will prefer the to-the-point dub, which loses some of the drama, but holds on to the original's seductive ambiance.

CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY "Still Disillusioned" (Original & Dub Mxs) Rescue [House, Tribal, Tech-house] A slightly different turn for Mr. Grant Dell, here on burgeoning London label Rescue Recordings. Here, Dell gets crafty, going for a deeper house vibe while maintaining his trademark tribal tech-house edge. The Original Mix is classic warm-up music that is tough enough to take you to the next level without jolting the mood, but I'm going for the dub--a slightly atmospheric take with an excellent shuffle groove.

Also in this week is new remix and production work from Telepopmusik (you know it from that Mitsubishi commerical; new remixes from Markus Nikolai and Jori Hulkkonen truly rock the spot), Francois K, Matthias "Matty" Heilbronn, Layo & Bushwacka!, Rhythm & Sound, Aruba, David Duriez, Fish Go Deep, Paul Johnson, Pepe Braddock, Gene Farris (with Miguel Migs on the remix), Dan Morris & Shylock, Big Head, Infusion, and the Chicken Lips live band project Big Two Hundred, amongst others.
New label output from Poker Flat, Wave, Soma, Eukahouse, Kinky Vinyl, Brique Rouge, Looq, Addictive, Silver Pearl, Transparent, Zero Tolerance, Burial Mix, and more is also in.
And finally, don't forget to check out full-release copies of the latest from Big Chief (Cutlab and Asad Rizvi's incredible remix!) and San Diego DJ Panic, whose latest for DMT3 flew off the shelves when we brought you the white label last month.
Hot restock material from Household Recordings (Onionz & Tony) and Tilted (Chris Lum, Lo-Motion, Miguel Migs, and more) are also in, so don't forget to check our Restock sections regularly.
It's time to celebrate and give thanks. Thank you all for making this year our best yet, and we'll keep working hard to make sure next year is even better. Happy holidays!
