It's about that time for another update at Primalrecords.com, this time featuring another 80 new titles added to the database. Restock titles you will not want to miss include the latest releases from Hanna on Viva (featuring the much-coveted Lawnchair Generals remix), The Rapture's uber-hot "House Of Jealous Lovers" remixed by Morgan Geist and DFA, and the somewhat elusive Momma's Home Cooking EP--a must for Brett Johnson and Derrick Carter devotees. Speaking of which, Brett Johnson's latest work for Classic is up first on this week's hit parade. Here's the lowdown:

SCOPER & BUBBA "I'm Satisfied" (Original, Brett Johnson, and Doc Martin Mxs) Classic [House, Tech-house] The always dependable Classic imprint delivers another solid EP of freak-flavored house music, this time featuring Scoper & Bubba (don't ask, I don't know). On the remix is Brett Johnson, who never fails to impress with his clicked-up funky tech-house vibe and LA DJ pioneer Doc Martin, who takes the BPM down to a nice and deep 120 for an old school flavored dark and dubby house excursion--something you'd more likely hear from Francois K, perhaps, and a welcome diversion from Doc's classic canon of productions. It's a keeper.

TONY SENGHORE "This Is It" EP Music For Freaks [House, Tech-house] The oh-so-prolific Tony Senghore goes into the vaults and gets back on the map with "This Is It"--his latest release for the esteemed Music For Freaks label. Originally released on his own Horehaus imprint in 1999, Senghore stakes pioneer status in the realm of blasted tech-house with this cut up, bleeped-out, and fucked up dancefloor no-brainer. Exclusive to this release are a pair of remixes--one, a stripped down reinterpretation, the other, a dubby acid relick that maintains a contemporary feel. Still, neither beats the original mix for it's total anarchist sequence and vibe. If you missed it the first time, now's your chance. Don't blow it.

DOC MARTIN & ANDRE KING "A Little Gotten" Westbound [House] Two new records from Doc in one week? Chalk up another EP for the Westbound Music label, here with co-conspirator Andre King. Much like his Classic remix, Doc works out a pair of smoky deep housers for early evenings and early mornings. The main mix keeps the heads down and the feet on the floor, but my pick goes to the Wax dub, which raises the bar with tribal undertones and a dubby aesthetic tailored for set building. Over a decade of DJing and Doc Martin remains as relevant as ever.

STEREO PRODUCTIONS pres. DANO, CHUS & CEBALLOS "Deep Architecture" (Original and Bass & Penn Mxs) 20/20 Vision [House, Tribal, Tech-house] It's bicontinental collaborationism with Bay Area tech-houser Dano fielding off Madrid-based tribal gurus Chus & Ceballos. The result? A big sounding record that incorporates West Coast rolling basslines and jazzy keyboard stabs underneath huge percussion for a record that balances the line between relentless and truly deep. On the flip, Bass & Penn go for a funky house approach that fits the current 20/20 Vision profile--techy and ethereal, but steeped in dancefloor power.

SEAN Q6 "Of Course" (Original & Phillip Charles Mxs) Bedrock [House, Progressive, Tech-house] Besides being one of the funniest interviews that house music has ever seen, Sean Cusick makes tracks under his own name, with DJ Three as Second Hand Satellites, and now, as Sean Q6. The M.O. is consistent: Cusick is taking the lead in the deep techno and progressive crossover, and apparently Bedrock's John Digweed is taking notice. "Of Course" is a deep and techy groover--somewhere between Jimmy Van M and Carl Craig, if you can believe it. Philadelphia-based tech-houser Phillip Charles gives the twisted techno remix, but you'll want the original. Trust me.

UNDERWORLD "Two Months Off" (Original & King Unique Mxs) JBO/V2 [House, Progressive, Tech-house] By this point, Underworld have just about transcended all genre limitations and have entered into the liberating land of waving only one flag--that of "dance music." With this, the first single from their new album, the newly minted Darren Emerson-less duo prove themselves in a big way. "Two Months Off" is techno, it's acid house, it's progressive, and most of all it's really really good. King Unique gives us a slightly variated DJ friendly remix, but the original mix is what will hit my decks. A stellar return.

EARTH DEULEY pres. NEO "Kontraband / Faceless" Hellpass [Progressive, Tribal, Tech-house] It's the 10th release for Hellpass and the first that hasn't been produced by Mr. Hellpass himself. Doesn't that say something? After a pair of successful releases for Low Pressings, Macon, Georgia native Earth Deuley presents Neo--a deep and hypnotic two-tracker that has been gaining massive support from house and progressive DJs alike. "Kontraband" is minimal and dubby tech-influenced fare that is half warm-up and half fired-up, while "Faceless" picks up the pace, gaining tribal momentum over atmospheric synth pads that bring David Alvarado to mind. Versatile and subversive, this is a long-term box staple.

UNKNOWN (RADIOHEAD) "Everything In Its Right Place" (Hybrid Rmx) White Label [Progressive, Breaks] If you're a Radiohead collector, if you liked the tech-house remixes of this track from a few months ago, if you hate the fact that they won't let anyone remix any of their post-OK Computer material. God bless Hybrid for another masterstroke illicit mix of the utmost quality. Limited edition and first come, first serve on this one.

V/A (DANNY TENAGLIA) "Global Underground Athens" 3x12" (feat. Tilt, MIKE, Return Of The Native, Dahlback & Krome, The Scumfrog, and Miss Kitten & The Hacker) Boxed [House, Progressive, Tech-house] This was the first mix CD, in my opinion, that showed Danny Tenaglia's true colors as a DJ. Deep techno, soulful house, electro, progressive, tribal, and even a bit of hard techno over 2 CDs; the DJs DJ uses it all and, somehow, it makes sense. This limited edition unmixed vinyl version sways more to Danny's progressive side with Tilt, Return Of The Native, and MIKE, but New York tribal housers will be happy to see a new vinyl release for The Scumfrog's debut track, tech-house fans will need Dahlback & Krome's classic "The Real Jazz" on vinyl, and Johnny-come-latelys claiming to be "electroclash" will be feeling Miss Kitten's Tenaglia anthem, "Frank Sinatra." My essential pick, for sure.

Also in this week is new remix and production work from Deep Dish, Mara, Hydrogen Rockers, Spincycle, Max Graham, Timo Maas, Logic Box, Tony Thomas and Red Moon, Haris, X-Press 2, Freaks, Colin Dale, Wyatt Earp, and Colin Dale amongst others. New label releases from Slip N Slide, Choo Choo, Silver Planet, Oblong, Baroque, Visitor, Large Music, Laws Of Motion, Loaded, and Klang are also on deck.

In the meantime, check out the website's front page weblog later this week for a contest where the winner will receive Primal Records' label back catalog--including a pair of out-of-print releases held back in the vault. Before you can win, however, you need to sign up to become a registered user on our Message Board (and while you're at it, give it a post!) and keep your eyes peeled for more info.

Until then, be good!
